The German Class 23 steam locomotive was built for Deutsche Bundesbahn between 1950 and 1959 and the final locomotive, 23 105, was the last new steam locomotive received into service by DB.
105 class members were built during this period, with some remaining in service as late as the mid-1970s. Today, five examples remain in operational condition at museums around Germany.
This latest addition to Eisenbahn Kurier's series of highly detailed locomotive histories examines the design, manufacture and operation life of the class. Over 600 black & white photographs and diagrams illustrate this comprehensive history of the most modern steam locomotive class built for Deutsche Bundesbahn. German text. Hardback. 344 pages.
