A high quality album of black & white photographs of German Class 03 steam locomotives at work around Germany. These locomotives saw regular use on passenger trains all over Germany, hence the sub-title - from the North Sea to the Alps. After a long and successful life, the locomotives were replaced by diesel and electric traction in the 1960s.
