Norway's Coastal Service celebrates its 130th anniversary in 2023, having first began sailings on 2nd July 1893 on what is regarded as 'the most beautiful voyage in the world'. The route has continued to evolve and while it is now more cruise orientated, the focus is still firmly on the key task of serving the many isolated communities which like along the 2500km route.
In 2021, Havila Voyages were awarded part of the contract to operate alongside Hurtigruten. This updated edition of the history of the route brings the story right up to date, as well as tracing the route's history from the very beginning.
Each chapter covers a period in the route's history and is well-illustrated with archive black & white or more recent colour photographs. 428 pages.
