An album of colour and black & white photographs of steam locomotives operating around East Berlin between the 1960s and 1980s.
Author Ingo Thiele presents over 180 photographs that document the use of steam locomotives in the city during a period where steam had largely been replaced in much of Western Europe.
Photographs are arranged in chapters covering different locations, including the city centre and depots. A wide variety of steam locomotive types are covered and each photograph is accompanied by a caption.
