This DVD traces the history of the Deutschen Reichsbahn, which was formed in 1920 and amalgamated six state railways into one national operator.
Using archive video and images, this DVD looks at the history of DR from 1920 up to the unification of DB and DR in 1994. Looks at how the railways operated and adapted through wartime, destruction and the dividing of Germany into two. Footage also looks at key developments in German railway technology and the transition from steam to diesel and electric power.
