A fascinating book which takes photographs of railways around Berlin from between the 1940s and early the 1990s and compares them with photographs of the same location in more recent years.
In many cases little has changed except the trains passing the location, whereas at other locations all signs of the railway and industry have been removed. Many photographs illustrate the rapid modernisation of Berlin between the end of World War 2 and the present day.
Captions accompany each pair of photographs and explain some of the changes which can be seen between the two images. Also includes a short introduction to railways around Berlin.
