From 1958, Deutsche Bundesbahn started marking long distance trains in their timetables with the letter 'F'. This continued until the early 1970s when the InterCity system was introduced; as a result, long distance trains in West Germany were commonly known as F-Zuge during this period.
This DVD contains footage of long distance trains in West Germany during this period, featuring many iconic German locomotive types along with new locomotive types introduced during the 1960s. Locations are included from all around the Bundesbahn's network.
