This DVD traces the 50 year history of InterCity trains in Germany.
First starting operating in 1971 as First Class only trains, InterCity trains expanded across Germany, notably in the years following the reunification. In the late 1970s, standard class was introduced and passenger numbers increased substantially as inter-city travel became more affordable.
This DVD contains footage of InterCity trains operating around Germany over the last 50 years, featuring a variety of locomotive types, including the popular Classes 101, 103 and 120. Also includes footage of the new double-deck IC2 rolling stock which has been operating since 2015.
