Laurie Akehurst’s father worked on the buses for London Transport during one of the most interesting periods in its history, starting from the recovery from wartime and covering both central buses and country buses up to his retirement from London Country in 1972.
In this book, Laurie tells the story from notes he made when his father recounted the experiences he had with inspectors, other members of staff and passengers. Chapters cover each period during Laurie's father's career.
