The New Summer Timetable Previewed: Mike Stone presents his guide to the new summer timetable, which is due to start on Sunday 2nd June, a couple of weeks later than had been the case in recent years.
Climate Change: Keeping Passengers Cool: The effects of climate change are a major concern across the railway industry. Porterbrook Leasing's Development Engineer, Colin Musisi and Project Manager, Sami Ghebache presented a lecture entitled "Climate Change - Keeping Passengers Cool" to the Derby Railway Engineering Society on 17 April, giving details of some examples of how train fleets may be adapted to cope with climate change. It also included an update on the new tri-mode fleet of units being financed by Porterbrook for LNER, as Robert Pritchard reports.
Changing Times at WMT's Soho Depot: The small but important depot at Soho in Birmingham has been maintaining the Class 323s used on the Cross City line for more than 30 years but is now looking forward to a new future as diagrams on the line start to transition to the new Class 730s.

Talyllyn Railway Looks to the Future: Not content with simply celebrating its 75th anniversary as the first preserved railway in the world, the team at the Talyllyn Railway has launched an ambitious new appeal to fund major developments at the Welsh narrow gauge line. Known as the 75 Appeal, this was launched in March with the aim of raising £500 000 over five years to fund a number of improvements. Gary Essex reviews the line's history and reports on its plans for the future.
