An illustrated record of narrow gauge industrial and field railways to have existed in Westfalen and Lippe from the start of the 20th century onwards.
Railways were used on construction sites and around industrial locations in the years before lorries were widely available for bulk transport. This book looks at such railways in the Westfalen and Lippe regions of Germany, as well as at a few modern railways at industrial sites which exist today. A number of heritage and tourist railways which exist today are also included.
For each location, a brief summary of the site is included along with a series of colour or black & white photographs illustrating some of the locomotives to have operated at the site. Feldbahngeschichten: Schmalspurige Werkbahnen in Westfalen und Lippe provides a fascinating review of the light railways which once operated around this area. German text. Hardback. 144 pages.
