The fist volume of this history of the line which was built to link the Ruhr area with the cities of Bremen and Hamburg.
The high volume of traffic on the line led to it being nicknamed ‘Die Rollbahn’. This first volume covers the stretch between Bremen and Hamburg at the northern end of the line. A brief introduction to the line’s history is followed by a look at each station on the line. For each station, history is provided, along with details of the development of the railway in the area, track diagrams and black & white photographs from throughout the stations existence.
