The line between Hamburg and Westerland, on the island of Sylt, is known as the Marschbahn due to the landscape throug which the section of line between Elmshorn and Westerland passes.
The route from the mainland onto Sylt is not electrified, so has always attracted fans of diesel motive power. This DVD contains footage of trains operating on the line, including footage of Class 218 diesel locomotives hauling trains across the Hochdonn bridge and the Hindenburgdamm across to the island.
German commentary. 58 minutes running time.
