After an absence of nearly five years, Loco Review, the illustrated review of loco-hauled train services in Great Britain is back! The Covid-19 lockdown gave the author the opportunity to resume publication, but the sheer volume of high quality material has meant this new edition has been published in two complementary volumes.
Volume 2 looks at specific locomotive classes, or in some cases at celebrity locomotives that have come to the fore in the preceding couple of years, including a number of Class 37s, 40013 and the heritage Class 50s. Some of the chapters relate to freight operators and look at the many different liveries with which their locomotives have been adorned.
Other chapters cover subjects such as locomotives going for scrap, Network Rail Snowploughs, the Midland Pullman and newly released Class 69 locomotives. Although not a locomotive, even the passing of the humble Pacer gets a mention!
Colour photography of a very high standard is used throughout and extended captions provide further information about the services and locations illustrated. 192 pages.
