This book takes the reader on a colourful journey along the Lancashire & Yorkshire Main Line in the latter years of the 20th century from the Merseyside city of Liverpool, across the Pennines via Manchester Victoria and Hebden Bridge to Goole.

A series of over 240 mostly colour photographs illustrate the trains, stations, depots and other locations along the entire route, starting with Liverpool's Merseyrail electrics, through Wigan, Bolton, Manchester and the scenic Calder Valley line to Wakefield, Knottingley and finishing up at Goole Docks.

The book consists of colour photographs, presented in two-per-page format, with extensive captions accompanying each image. 122 pages.
