The 1953 film 'The Titfield Thunderbolt' was a British comedy-drama based around a group of villagers trying to keep their branch line open. The film itself was inspired by the preservation of the Talyllyn Railway in Wales. The villagers triumphed and their railway survived. This book picks up the story where the film ended and tells us what happed in Titfield once the cameras stopped rolling.
