An album of archive black & white photographs taken during the 1930s of steam on the London Midland Region. Photographs are from the collection of George Barlow, who from 1933 onwards was recording the railway scene on film, in particular the LMS.
Here he was able to record a time when the products of pre-grouping days were still dominant, though more modern steam locomotive types were starting to enter service. Photographs include surviving locomotives from the LNWR, iconic Midland locomotives and the early Stanier tank locomotives.
Photographs are each accompanied by a caption. Hardback. 80 pages.
