In this book, author Adrian Booth has delved into the photographic archives of the Industrial Railway Society and compiled a fourth selection of black & white photographs of industrial railway locomotive sheds.
Industrial locomotives have always been less photographed than their main line cousins, but even less attention has been paid to the infrastructure on which they operated. This series of books contains black & white photographs of locomotive sheds at industrial railways around Britain, ranging from large metal depots through to tiny brick sheds used to house a single small locomotive.
The book contains over 130 photographs taken at locations all around Britain, covering the period from the 1960s through to the present day. Each photograph is accompanied by a caption providing some information about the locomotives and railways. 80 pages.
